Rules to Survive an Island

hurricane preparation

When you live on an island, you must follow certain rules. These rules include being alert to predators and being ready to defend yourself. Avoid deep water because sharks can lurk. You should also avoid caves, which may house dangerous animals. Alternately, you could learn how to make basic tools of self-defense.

Be positive

Positive thinking is a proven method to survive on an isolated island. Positive thinking is more likely to result in something. This will make it easier to stick to a positive mindset. It may seem difficult initially, but adopting a positive attitude can make you happier and more content with your life. It can reduce stress and anxiety.

Research shows that positive thinking can improve your overall health and extend your life. It can decrease stress levels, boost immunity, and reduce the risk of heart disease. It can even prolong your life! Studies have shown that optimists live longer than pessimists. This effect is maintained even after taking into account other factors.

Avoid cannibalism

Cannibalism should be avoided on an island by refusing to engage in it. Cannibalism was once a survival strategy for many people who didn't have any other means of food. The practice of cannibalism grew in popularity over time among both sailors and islanders. Islanders discovered that human flesh tasted a lot like pork. As a result, they regularly dug up fresh graves and stole bodies to cook. They could not only survive but it also provided a way for them to get good food, without needing to hunt.

Cannibalism is still practiced by some cultures. Cannibalism still has a bad reputation. False allegations are often made to discredit entire groups. While there is no evidence that cannibalism promotes health, there are risks.

Make a shelter

Shelter is the most crucial tool in your emergency kit. The shelter must be the driest place possible, as wetness robs your body of heat. The shelter should be high enough for rescuers to see and insects to avoid. Tree shelters are one of the easiest shelters to construct. It is simply a tree shelter that needs to be cut down and then replanted with large branches.

A shelter is a good option if you don't have enough firewood. Also, it will keep your supplies out of the wet environment. You won't have to go searching for dry fuel on the island. Aside from having a fire to keep you warm, a shelter will protect you from predators and keep you safe.

Find food

The first thing you'll need to do when you're on a deserted island is find food. Generally, it's easy. The ocean is a good source of fish and crabs. Food sources that are land-based include plants and fruits. A spear and fishing net are available for purchase. You can also make these items from what you have on the islands.

Aside from water, food is essential for survival. Without water, it is impossible to survive for more than three days. There are many sources of water around the island. Rainwater can be collected and stored in containers.
